Pat Bean

I am a textile artist living in Mawdesley and first became interested in textiles at secondary school. When I retired early from teaching I studied stitched textiles and gained the City and Guilds Diploma. I am a member of several textile groups and exhibit regularly.  My preferred technique is wet felting with added stitch to define areas of interest, but enjoy a wide range of other methods, often combining these to give the textural effects required.

I find inspiration for my creations from many sources, especially from the natural world. My garden and travelling to far flung places, provide opportunities to capture images for the many sketch books that I enjoy working in.
